I interviewed researchers Lee Dae-gyeom and Park Young-hyun of the research team of the Muhan IT R&D Center GeoAI.

Both of you started as interns, went through a three-month probationary period, and became full-time employees, so I think it'll be new.

Let's have an in-house interview with the new employees of the GeoAI research team, which is full of passion.

Q. Please introduce yourself briefly.

-

Researcher Lee Daegyeom

Hello. I'm Lee Dae-gyeom, a researcher from GeoAI's research team.

Although I majored in chemical engineering, I became interested in the big data field, so I got a good opportunity and joined Muhan IT while I was preparing for artificial intelligence development.

I think it hasn't been long since I came to Seoul from Busan, but I became a full-time employee after 3 months. I feel again that time flies. It's proof that you've been busy, right?

Researcher Park Young-hyun

Hello, I'm Park Young-hyun, a researcher working in the GeoAI team of Infinite Technology Information.

It has already been three months since I came to Seoul in April this year, and I became a full-time employee from an intern. I look forward to your kind cooperation. :)

Q. Can you tell me about your daily routine and your job?

-

Researcher Lee Daegyeom

I heard that drinking more than 1.5L of water a day is good for your body, so when I go to work in the morning, I always get water from a tumbler and prepare to drink water regularly. And since I'm always sitting down and working, I think I try to stretch from time to time to time.  I always bring a lunch box for lunch, but since I live alone, I make a large number of single menus and eat only that for a week.(Of course, I eat a variety in the evening.) Other than that, I work hard on my duties.

Currently, we are developing a server to serve the self-developed model to AiMAPS. I am in charge of building a middleware server that acts as a relay so that data between the AiMAPS Viewer server and the model server can flow smoothly. We are still in the early stages, so we are making various attempts to find and combine which technology and framework to be more efficient and fit our purpose.

As important as improving the accuracy of the model, I think it is to reliably deliver the results to the clients who want to use the model. I'm in charge of building that infrastructure. Although my daily work is different, I am currently in charge of 3D modeling and analyzing drone dam shooting images and developing my own know-how by organizing them for better results.

I am working on various tasks such as producing various kinds of software manuals, organizing modeling results documents, working on simple documents, and producing videos for presentation and YouTube uploads. Isn't this what multiplayer is like

Researcher Park Young-hyun

I start my day with a cup of Americano while looking at the morning view of Munrae-dong. The company provides a variety of snacks every time, so it's good to enjoy refreshments together.

In the morning, I review the work I did yesterday and write a personal diary. If you do the given work according to the schedule you organized, it will be lunch time soon.

At the beginning of the company, I brought a "salad meal with chicken breast" for lunch, but now I am enjoying the nearby restaurants to my heart's content.

Currently, I am conducting data analysis related to the 'Seoul Urban Flood Analysis System'. To cope with the urban flooding problem mentioned every summer, we provide rainfall and sensor information related to flooding as a GIS-based monitoring solution. Among them, I review the measures necessary for flood prediction through the collected data, apply machine learning and deep learning algorithms, and write technical reports. There are many things I don't know, so there are trials and errors, but I think there are many things to learn under the leadership of the seniors!

In the afternoon, the remaining work is carried out, or the senior researcher and team members have work meetings or technical training sessions together. When I get off work after work, I'm going to do some light exercise by bicycle or walking along the surrounding river.
